What's that? Im so glad you asked, Mass media means technology that is intended to reach a mass audience. It is the primary means of communication used to reach the vast majority of the general public. The most common platforms for mass media are newspapers, magazines, radio, television, and the Internet. For a large portion of the population the Internet is the main used for mass media. A very popular app, Instagram, is likely one of the top used ways of reaching a mass audience, I mean considering people such as Kim Kardashian (made so known due to TV in earlier years) has over 100 Million followers on her Instagram alone, not to mention how many she may have on Twitter.

Mass media makes it possible for others to go global really, considering without TV we wouldn't have as many famous people world wide, who also influence people world wide. One such instance is that one celebrity Tweeted that they don't really use Instagram anymore, and then Millions deleted their accounts as if a God had spoken and said 'Forsake your instagram and be free of sin'. Its wild the hold over people that mass media can have.
